Celebrated as an auspicious offering to the native goddess Yellamma Saundatti of village Gajendragarh in Karnataka, Patteda Anchu is a handloom saree woven using ancient techniques since the 10th century. Handcrafted with eco-friendly dyes and woven using a traditional handloom in Belgaum, Raichur and neighboring villages of the region, it is known by a variety of local names like the dundina or the devaru saree.
