Hubli saree was extensively woven in Gajendragad, Bagalkot and Gadag. They were worn mostly by married countrywomen. The pattern of the border was called gadi dadi and the flowers in it symbolizes beauty and elegance. This pattern is used in Ilkal, Narayan peth and other south indian sarees these days. The warp is always in off white (kora) for body and contrast weft which gives a bright shoot of colours leading to dhoop chhaav effect. It always has bright borders.
The item has been crafted using traditional weaving techniques that impart a reversible appeal to the fabric. It comes in an unfinished form to allow the wearer to choose which end and side would they like to drape, so they can get it finished according to their personal preference.
This product has been woven by hand and may have slight irregularities that are a natural outcome of the human involvement in the process.
The colors seen in the image may vary from the actual product due to different computer screen resolutions and displays.
